BANG ON A CAN, ROAD TRIP

“The light design and visuals create a three-dimensional, aural, visual environment, making the audience feel like they are moving right alongside the musicians.”

Description

For Bang on a Can's 30th Anniversary, I designed the set and projections for an evening-long visual experience created by Michael Gordon, David Lang, and Julia Wolfe.

The design featured a 12-screen, multi-dimensional, polygonal scenic element, embodying the concept of a road trip from various perspectives. Directed by Michael Counts, the show celebrated freedom and the open road, highlighting contemporary music contributions. It debuted at The Brooklyn Academy of Music over three nights, attracting over 12,000 patrons.
