The popular, multimedia blog platform Tumblr brought in CandyStations to realize six disparate productions for six bands and artists over the course of four days for the lauded SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. The event was called Tumblr IRL (“in real life”).
The goal was to translate each act’s Tumblr feed into a three-dimensional reality in a music venue for their fans. Each event featured original artwork and live visual effects across nine modular, polygonal screens, rearranged for each act to complement the unique aesthetic and energy of the musician.
