Hand Eye is a collaboration between multi-Grammy-winning ensemble Eighth Blackbird and composer sextet Sleeping Giant

The six pieces that comprise Hand Eye are Checkered Shade by Timo Andres, South Catalina by Chris Cerrone, Conduit by Robert Honstein, Mine, Mime, Meme by Andrew Norman, By-By Huey by Ted Hearne, and Cast by Jacob Cooper. These pieces were inspired by works of art in the private collection of Maxine and Stuart Frankel.  Images of these works can be found here.

Each piece was composed for a member of eightblackbird, highlighting their respective instrument. I worked to create six unique, interactive visual designs to complement and respond to the work, both in respects to the music and the artwork that inspired it.

Hand Eye debuted at Carnegie Hall in January 2016 and has since been presented at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Austin, and Richmond.
