A BIT ABOUT CANDYSTATIONS
DOWNLOAD RESUME PDF

CandyStations is primarily Deborah Johnson, a multi-disciplinary artist and designer in Brooklyn, New York.

I primarily design and perform live visual accompaniment for music groups including Sufjan Stevens, Wilco, Lambchop, Calexico, The Fab Faux, and Chocolat & Akito in such venues as Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Fillmore, The Ryman, and Wiener Konzerthaus.

In addition to performance work, I produce web, print, animation and video projects for a wide range of folks.

CandyStations is not always limited to one lady. I have collaborated with a number of other programmers and artists for several projects; programmer Shea Ako and painter Fred Tomaselli for Wilco, filmmaker James Clauer for Lambchop, and artist / programmer Siebren Versteeg for my work with Sufjan Stevens.

I am currently designing projections for a live film / music performance based on Braden King's forthcoming feature film HERE. HERE [ THE STORY SLEEPS ], will be at MoMA's Titus I Theatre on April 30, 2010.

If you would like to work with me or just say hi, please e-mail play@candystations.com.

Thanks for coming out,
Deborah

P.S. I am Visiting Professor of 4-Dimensional Design at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and am pursuing a Masters of Science in Experimental Media at NYUPoly.
